HBCU Energy Institute HBCU Energy Summit

Purpose: Convene all 107 HBCUs, federal agencies, national labs, industry leaders, and workforce development partners to accelerate energy workforce development, innovation, and economic impact in underserved communities.

Summit Objectives

  1. Showcase HBCU Energy Talent – Highlight students, faculty, and researchers contributing to energy innovation.

  2. Workforce Development Alignment – Link HBCU graduates with careers in renewable energy, nuclear energy, grid modernization, AI energy systems, and cybersecurity.

  3. Small Business & Supplier Engagement – Connect HBCU-affiliated startups to DOE, utilities, and contractors.

  4. Policy & Federal Collaboration – Align with DOE, NSF, DoEd, and WIOA workforce initiatives.

  5. Innovation & R&D Partnerships – Promote collaborative research between HBCUs, national labs, and private sector.

  6. National Energy Equity Agenda – Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the U.S. energy sector.
